A new law has been passed which states that all coolers must have a locking system or they must be held shut with a bungee. This new law will help cut down on the littering that occurs when coolers are tipped over in the water.
Alcohol that is 6% is permitted on the Illinois River. There are still no glass or styrofoam allowed and no coolers over 50 QT. Alcohol is prohibited in a few public accesses, but not along the river.
Gravel Bar and Grill
